I've been meaning to post this for some time now, but have just been so busy with school that I've had very little time for extra things... My birthday was back in September, and my family made me breakfast in bed. It wasn't until I was about half way through the meal that I realized I needed to document this event because it may be a while before it happens again. Later in the day Jim told me that Tristan insisted that I needed breakfast in bed. So, Jim ran to the nearest breakfast joint (Barbec's) to get the pancakes (I thought they were better than usual) and grits (my favorite), and then he and the kids made eggs (one of Jim's culinary specialties) and fruit. It was so yummy!!! And the red roses were a bonus!!!
It really got my day off to a good start. In the afternoon, we went to a movie together as a family. Jim invited his family over for cake and ice cream. I decided to make my own birthday cake, German Chocolate with coconut pecan frosting, because when you buy it at the store, it's never as good as if you make it yourself, especially if it's all still a little warm from the oven!!! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!!! I had a great day and I owe it all to my kids and the master mind behind all the love... Jim!!!
